Swastika Jajooさん(スワさん)が、今年も詩のワークショップをしてくださいました。
今年は、だれかにお手紙を書くというテーマ。
みんなが書いたお手紙を一部、紹介します。

・世界を より良くすること
・あなたが、今いることを 示すため、
私がいることを、忘れないようにするため、今日
・今日の 明日が より良い日になるように、
・まわりまわって、世界が 少し明るくなるように、
・あなたが いつも そうしているように、

Dear Dosimeter
Dear Dosimeter,
I have known you and this land through numbers. 3.11, 1 mSv, 100 Bq, 20 cm, 6m. Right now, you tell me 2.5. I must agree. The first time I saw you, I wanted to see how high you could go. Over the years, with so many numbers to represent this land, the numbness has slowly started to seep in. How do I count the number of sand particles that have struck Nan-chan's feet? How do I count the number of seeds that the 2 watermelons hold? Which of these particles and which of these seeds should induce fear in me? The way I see you now is through the leftover piece of watermelon that the sea, at first tempestuous, later gentle, has returned to us. Once we leave here, no one will ever pick it up. It will be swallowed by the sea again or find itself sinking in the beach. This act of wilderness is what I see when you tell me it is 2.5.
Dear Dosimeter,
Inspite of you reading 2.5, I see people from length and breadth of this country gather here to remember Yuna. I have also seen the gathering of stink bugs, snakes, bamboo leaves, hydrangeas and caterpillars waiting to be moths along with us humans. The melodica plays alongside drums, guitars and neighbourhood voices, in celebration of a girl who probably would've been here had you not read 2.5.
Dear Dosimeter,
You are both a manual and a tombstone. You are both a reason to love and resist. You are perennial and yet ephemeral. You are a reminder of what we've lost each passing day.
— In memory of those who haven't made it to this summer

Dear Yuna,
i fell in love with the hiragana ゆ when i learned the word 夕日. sunset. i tread past the tide embankments and let my gaze rest on the small yellow structure built in place of the home where you lived. your dad says he doesn't recall much about what music you listened to, but has distinct memories of Rydeen by Yellow Magic Orchestra playing in the car. we played it last year near this yellow makeshift home, the sun still hot, the sweet scent of watermelons promising us respite. it would've been your twentieth birthday. someone also sang "you are sunlight", and there was cake too.
i met you through translation, asked to render into language what i thought could not be articulated, grief so cruel it only softens. i am disgusted by words but what else do we have? i keep translating, never stopping. next to your father near the yellow house. we laugh. we pause. we ask people to think. there is something so tender i forget all my prickly pasts, and think only of you in your blazer, pouring over the kobito-zukan picture book. i have it but i haven't gathered enough of myself to read it. is there ever a right vocabulary? the blackboard in your class has "ko-bi-to" listed as a word to be looked up. dwarf, midget, pygmy, my dictionary tells me.
the skies have changed so much. i remember your father flying a kite with ko-bi-to on it last year, sun against sun. we all flew kites for peace because the world is a terrible place and yet we must love it. i think you'd hold my hand and insist it is not, so i'm trying to change how i think too. maybe the world isn't. in any case, i will keep translating. i will keep telling the story you ask us to. i will try to love like i know you loved this world. i will read the book with ko-bi-to, and sing with everyone near the yellow house on your birthday. i know the music reaches you.
